Before OXZA there were forty-five years of boards. Tony started building them in 1981 — in Utah first, then in the Columbia River Gorge, where the wind is relentless enough to make the testing honest.
In 1999 he co-founded Slingshot Sports in Hood River and spent twenty-five years running its design. His name went onto six US patents, onto the Fuel and the RPM, onto the company’s first hydrofoil in 2000, and onto the first hand-held wing anyone put on a foil.
OXZA is what he built after that, with nothing in the way.
